Definition of ready and done
Ready
- Overall start conditions are met (see Implementation-Order-Overview preconditions). Until the owner confirms them, only documentation and policy-independent planning proceed.
- The tests-first subset from the step note is named.
- Each Qnn the behaviour needs is resolved by DG, or the scenario is scoped Pending decision and the task excludes it. A proposed default is a recommendation, never a prerequisite.
- Prerequisite steps exist on
main.
Done
Use these words literally:
- Implemented; awaiting owner review: PR open, focused checks run, review state recorded (independent review done, or draft marked “review pending”).
- Merged: the owner merged it. Merged is not deployed.
- A scenario is Passed only on a named integrated build and fixture (Scenario-Evidence-Rules).
Never write “complete”, “shipped” or “approved” for software on the strength of a merge, a green unit test, or two agents agreeing. DG approval and launch approval are separate, written, and DG’s alone.
